| La Mutuelle des Motards The “Bikers’ Mutual” is recognized as the leading technical specialist in 2-wheeler insurance policies in the French market, and is the only insurance company in Europe generating over 80% of its revenues from motorbike and scooter insurance.
Founded by and for bikers, the Mutuelle des Motards owes its leadership position to its commitment to leveraging its services and products to offer continuous improvements in the protection of motorbike users. In-depth knowledge of the needs of bikers and a focus on accident prevention through training, experience, and “right-sizing” user and machine have led to the Mutuelle des Motards becoming an effective lobbyist on bikers’ issues with public authorities and a respected contributor to French mutual insurance industry organization GEMA (Groupement des Entreprises Mutuelles d'Assurance) on accident prevention and road safety. | | La Mutuelle des Motards The problem
The Mutuelle des Motards (Bikers’ Mutual) insurance company used an SSL VPN deployment to offer remote connectivity for mobile staff, an outdated and not fully satisfactory solution. Software solutions layered one on top of the other and URL re-writing mechanisms were impacting performance and compatibility, to the extent that certain users could not access the full functionality of company web applications.
The Virtual Browser solution
Virtual Browser was deployed principally to guarantee secure, trouble-free access to the intranet and corporate email for mobile employees. It’s also being used by system administrators for remote management of certain machines.
The solution has been deployed to around a hundred employees, and should an emergency situation require it (severe weather, pandemic outbreak or other incident preventing employees getting to the office) the Virtual Browser deployment can quickly be extended to cover several hundred users.
Why Virtual Browser?
The Virtual Browser solution was chosen by the Mutuelle des Motards primarily because the innovative Virtual Browser technology eliminates the performance and compatibility problems of traditional mobile/remote access solutions, effectively making SSL VPN deployments obsolete. The Mutuelle des Motards was also attracted by the flexibility of the deployment model, an architecture which can easily scale as requirements grow. Whether looked at from the server infrastructure point of view or the user licensing model, Virtual Browser easily adapts as business needs evolve.
Finally the IT team at Mutuelle des Motards was particularly impressed with the reactivity of the commonIT support operation, working closely with the customer in a way few major vendors can offer today. |
