Raymond Weil

The problem

Raymond Weil was looking for an easy to use, highly secure solution allowing users to connect from home should a crisis prevent them getting to the office, for example during a pandemic outbreak. SSL VPN-based web portals were ruled out for being too dependent on the configuration of the remote terminal, especially for security.

The Virtual Browser solution

Virtual Browser has been deployed to two distinct user populations within Raymond Weil. The first consists of system managers in the IT department who access internal web-based and TSE applications using the browser and RDP clients offered by the Virtual Browser appliance. The second user population consists of users without laptop PCs but who occasionally need unplanned access from outside the corporate network. These users are equipped with the standalone version of the Virtual Browser client, which runs from a USB flash memory device. The zero-footprint Virtual Browser standalone client can be executed on any machine, allowing completely secure access to corporate applications and services via the Virtual Browser appliance from anywhere in the world. Virtual Browser makes it easy for Raymond Weil to offer remote access without opening the enterprise network up to external attacks.

Why Virtual Browser?

Raymond Weil chose the Virtual Browser solution because it guarantees secure remote access independently of the state or configuration of the remote device. Even if the remote machine is infected, it can’t attack the enterprise network via the Virtual Browser connection. Virtual Browser is easy to deploy, and the use of https for the remote connection ensures users can connect from any location. Finally, the flexibility of the subscription-based licensing model allows the IT department to react quickly to changes in demand.
